Our Story
Heart of Man Spirit Fire Church was established in June 2017. The original, “Spirit Fire Church” was started by Pastor “Papa” Bob Dunphy in the fall of 2016. Papa Bob told Pastor Wayne that the Lord had ministered to his heart to come to Broadway, VA to start a church. In May of 2017, Pastor Wayne and Elaine received a newsletter from Papa Bob that he had established a small church in the Broadway area.
Both pastors graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the late 1990’s Bob traveled and ministered at different churches. While Pastor Wayne was pastoring a church in New Market, Virginia, Pastor Bob came and ministered several times at Pastor Wayne’s church. They became good friends.
In May of 2017, Pastor Wayne and his wife Elaine decided to visit Bob’s church one Sunday. At this time, Pastor Wayne and Elaine had a small church service in their home. Pastor Wayne and Elaine were able to spend almost a month with Papa Bob before he went home to heaven.
Bob was in the hospital and he asked Pastor Wayne and Elaine to come visit him because he had something he wanted to talk to Pastor Wayne about. Papa Bob told Pastor Wayne that he was ready to go home to see Jesus but he didn’t know what to do about the church he had started. He prayed and knew in his heart that the Lord wanted Pastor Wayne to continue the ministry. Wayne accepted this charge. Out of respect to Papa Bob, Pastor Wayne decided to keep Spirit Fire Church as part of the name. Pastor Wayne created the logo and added the rest of the church name by direction of the Lord.

Heart of Man Spirit Fire Church and Healing Center is all about people. We want people of all ages to get hold of God’s Word, which will set them free if they boldly act on it. We are here to tell people that Jesus Christ has set them free and we are here to proclaim what belongs to each believer in Christ. We are interested in helping people win in this life and how to be ready for the life to come.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He never changes. His word is just as REAL today as it has ever been. God still watches over HIS Word to make it come to pass in our lives “IF” we will believe it in our heart and act on it. Just talking about God’s word doesn’t produce results. It must be believed and acted upon in order to bring the desired results.
The works that Jesus did, we are told to do: sick healed, peace provided to those who need it, deliverance granted so that everyone can be set free from the dominion of Satan.

ABOUT
The Healing Center is designed to teach believers that it is God’s will to heal their bodies and to teach them how to receive healing.
Currently, the Healing Center is working in conjunction with our regular Sunday morning and Thursday evening services.
